I had heard about Toastmasters for years and was intrigued but wondered if a stay-at-home mom had a place in this seemingly professional setting. What I found is a supportive and welcoming setting in which I certainly have a place. Toastmasters has allowed me to explore a side of myself that I didn't know existed, not to mention becoming proficient at not only public speaking, but developing myself as a confident person. Toastmasters has been the most important endeavor I have taken on in recent years!

When I joined Toastmasters I felt like a fairly confident speaker just aiming to polish a few areas that needed work. However, as I've progressed through the program I've realized just how much polishing there was to do! Through the experience, I have dramatically improved my speaking skills and can't thank the club enough for the enjoyment and encouragement along the way. It has made a huge difference in my professional public speaking ability and in my confidence level. Return to Top

I started the club in 2000 to work on my communication and leadership skills and meet new people. I ended up doing that and so much more. The club is like a second family, very intimate and fun. You don't get this close to people normally; we share our lives. I would attend just for the fun of each meeting. In addition to having so much fun, I see Toastmasters as an excellent way to refine speaking and leading skills. I have done a lot of public speaking and it is easy for me to get up and talk, but it is much more challenging to do it in less time and more finesse. This club keeps challenging me. Return to Top
